Cuirle Mo Croide Poesy Ring

Product Description

"Pulse of my heart". The inscription is phrased in an archaic Gaelic, copied from an original ring which was probably made in Dublin in the 17th century. Poesy rings were popular throughout Europe though most are engraved in English, French or Latin. Gaelic inscriptions are relatively rare. Though recorded by scholars, the original poesy ring has now been lost, or is in an uncataloged private collection. As the detail of the ring is not known, the inscription has been placed on a simple modern ring shape. The poesy is a tribute to the passion and eloquence of the Irish people in equal measure. Available immediately in Sterling Silver; or Gold by special order. Whole sizes only 5-12. Band width measures 3/16th of an inch.
